Douro Harvest Cruise (2 Days)

Cruise Program

1.º Day | Porto - Pinhão

• 8:00 am – Passengers embark at Vila Nova de Gaia Quay
• Breakfast served on board
• Cruise the Crestuma-Lever Dam (sluice rises 14m) and the Carrapatelo Dam (sluice rises 35m)
• Lunch served on board
• 02:45 pm – Expected arrival at Régua Quay
• Cruise the Régua Dam (sluice rises 27m)
• 05:00 pm – Arrival at Pinhão Quay
• Passengers disembark
• Transfer to the Hotel in the Douro Region
• Dinner served at the hotel (drinks included)
• Accommodation in the Douro Region

2.º Day | Harvest

• 09:00 am – Breakfast served at the Hotel
• 10:30 am – Transfer to one of the most important Douro Wineries (also named Quinta)
• Reception and visit to the Gardens of the “Quinta” with a glass of Moscatel Wine and agreeable sounds of the “concertina” (a typical music instrument)
• The group will move to the vineyards
• Picking the grapes and transportation of the large baskets full of grapes to the winery (all tasks with live and traditional songs)
• Wine tasting with the winemakers of this “Quinta”
• Traditional lunch from Douro (cooked in iron pots)
• 3:30 pm – The last part of the harvesting begins: treading the grapes with your feet and traditional and live rhythms
• Documented liqueur wines tasting
• 05:50 pm – Transfer to the Pinhão Railway Station
• Return by train to Porto
• 08:35 pm – Arrival at Porto Railway Station (São Bento Station)
